Dr. Liz Andréa Villela Baroncini received her Master in degree in Medical Scienses - Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto– USP – Ribeirão Preto – SP - Brazil. Tesis: Ultrasonic tissue characterization of vulnerable carotid plaque: correlation between videodensitometric method andhistological examination. Period: 2003 - 2005. Later she obtained her Ph.D degree from Department of Health and Scienses – Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná – Curitiba – PR – Brasil for her research on Videodensitometric analysis of advanced carotid plaque: correlation with MMP-9, TIMP-1, and COX-2 expression. She is a member of Intensive Medicine – AMIB, Specialist in Cardiology –Brazilian Society of Cardiology, Echocardiography – Department of Echocardiography – Brazilian Society of Cardiology.
