Biography
After graduating from the University of East London with a Bsc (Hons) in psychology, Mark, gained an MSc in sport and exercise science at Leeds Metropolitan and his PhD in motor control from the University of Hull. He previously worked at Thames Valley University before joining Teesside University in 2008. Mark is a chartered psychologist with the British Psychological Society and has provided consultancy services for a wide range of athletes. He has also run workshops for coaches and athletes in a wide range of sports.
Research Interest
Dr Chen’s research interests include psychological consequences of sports injury, mental toughness in sport, attention and performance using experimental and field approaches. He would welcome applications from PhD students in these areas.
