Biography
Prof. Mary Ip is Mok Hing-Yiu Endowed Chair Professor of Respiratory Medicine of The University of Hong Kong; and Chief of Division of Respiratory & Critical Care Medicine at the Department of Medicine, Queen Mary Hospital.
Prof Ip served as Associate Dean (Education) of the Medical Faculty at The University of Hong Kong in 2000 – July 2013, and was Founding Director of the Institute of Medical and Health Sciences Education, The University of Hong Kong. She has also been President/Chairperson to a number of professional societies/organisations, including the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology, Hong Kong Thoracic Society, Hong Kong Lung Foundation, Hong Kong Society of Sleep Medicine, Respiratory Board of Hong Kong College of Physicians; and International Regent of the American College of Chest Physicians.
Prof. Ip has major research interests in sleep disordered breathing and airways diseases and has published widely. Her clinical and research focus on sleep disordered breathing is well recognized locally and internationally. She has been Associate Editor for Chest for several years, and she is currently on the Editorial Board of Sleep Medicine and Journal of Thoracic Disease, and regularly performs reviewer work for international journals and grant panels.
