Dr. Miquel Casas is Director, Department of Psychiatry, Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, Spain, and Professor of Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry and Legal Medicine, School of Medicine, Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain. Professor Miguel Casas leads the Psychiatry, Mental Health and Addictions Research Group at the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, where he was appointed director of the psychiatry department in 2000. With research interests spanning ADHD, addictions and borderline personality disorders, Professor Casas has recently linked up with the Mental Health Research Centre (CIBERSAM) at the Carlos III Institute of Health. Since 1998, he has also been the scientific director for the Treatment Programme for Doctors with Psychiatric and Addictive Disorders (PAIME). He is a member of a number of professional, scientific and non-profit organisations and is on the editorial board of several journals in psychiatry and addictions.
