Dr. Muhammad Akbar Malik did his MBBS from Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore- Pakistan in1981 and after training for 6 years in paediatric, joined the same institution , Sheikh Zayed Federal Postgraduate Medical institution as consultant in general Paediatric and neonatology. After this he joined in Children Hospital Lahore, as consultant paediatric neurologist and was Head of paediatric neurology department. Dr. Muhammad Akbar Malik was an editorial board of Neurology and Epidemiology.

Dr. Muhammad Akbar Malik research interest includes Management of childhood epilepsies in the community, Childhood stroke, Rehabilitation of neurodisabilities in the community.
