Biography
Dr. Phoebe Lin was born in Chicago, Illinois, graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kapa from Washington University in St. Louis, where she was awarded the prestigious Spector award for best undergraduate thesis in Biochemistry, and then returned to her hometown where she completed a joint MD/PhD program at the University of Illinois, where she graduated AOA with Honors.
Dr. Lin completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of California San Francisco and a two year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery and disease at Duke University, where she was awarded a Heed Foundation fellowship and the Ron G. Michels fellowship. She then completed a second one year fellowship in uveitis and ocular inflammation at Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University. She has published 34 peer-reviewed journal articles, 22 of which were first or last author papers, as well as multiple book chapters.
Dr. Lin is currently on faculty at the Casey Eye Institute as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology in the divisions of Retinal/Vitreous Diseases and Uveitis/Ocular Immunology, where she participates in the education of surgical retina fellows, uveitis fellows, and ophthalmology residents, as well as performs independent research using animal models to identify novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of uveitis.
