Pierfrancesco Morganti is a scientist of Cosmetic Dermatology . He has a degree in Pharmacy at the University of Rome (1960) with the highest grades and with a thesis published. After his graduation, he was an assistant at Institute of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Univ. of Rome and for many years, he was the Professor of Cosmetics and Applied Cosmetology at Catholic University of Rome. Dr. Morganti is an founder, Chief Executive and Scientific Director of MAVI since its founding in 1980. He is also the founder and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Applied Cosmetology (official organ of ISCD, International Society of Cosmetic Dermatology) since 1983 and the father of use of nanotechnology in cosmetics production. Since 2003, he is the Professor of Applied Cosmetic Dermatology, II Univ. of Naples and Univ. of Pavia and from 2005 he is a visiting Professor of China Medical University Shenyang. He is active in Cosmetic research since 1963 and is the 1996 - winner of “Elegance Cosmetic Engineering Innovation Award as well as 2006 - winner of the International Best Innovator as R&D Director of MAVI Sud, the more innovative Italian SME. Dr. Morganti is the co-author of three books: 1st and 2nd volume of the series Cosmetic Dermatology ; Everyday problems in dermatology (Morganti P. and Ebling JF.) ; A new look at old skin : a challenge to cosmetology (Morganti P. and Montagna W); also co-author Dermatologia cosmetologica (Morganti P. and Muscardin L.). He is the author of over 450 publications in specialized journals and newspapers. Dr. Morganti is an active member of International Society of Cosmetic Dermatology, Ohio (USA) as the President and Secretary General, member of Italian Society of Pharmacology, Italian Society of Cosmetic Science, European Academy of Dermatology, American Academy of Dermatology and several other national and international scientific associations.
