S. Chakraborty is a Senior lecturer in Horticulture at Department of Crop Improvement, Department of CIHAB, Institute of Agriculture, Visva-Bharati University, West Bengal, India. As a lecturer, he is a recipient of many awards and grants for his valuable contributions and discoveries in agriculture. His research interests lie in Energy, Energy use, efficiency, French bean, Input-output, Paddy straw mulch. He is the Editorial Board Member of many peer reviewed journals and his area of expertise, as an Scientist credits him with many publications in national and international journals.
