Dr. Shigeru Hirabayashi currently working as professor in department of orthopaedic surgery at Teikyo University School of Medicine, Japan. He received his Graduation from the University of Tokyo in 1978. Dr. Shigeru Hirabayashi was serving as a member of Director of the Japanese Society for Spine Surgery and Related Research, Responsible director of Journal of Spine Research, Director and Founder of Japan Society for the Study of Surgical Technique for Spine and Spinal Nerves, Member of NASS.

Dr.Shigeru Hirabayashi research includes Diseases of spine and spinal cord, especially degenerative diseases such as cervical spondylotic myelopathy, thoracic myelopathy, OPLL (ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament), disc herniation.
