Biography
Timothy E. Hewett PhD, FACSM is the Professor and Director of the Sports Medicine Biodynamics Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Hewett is Professor of Pediatrics and Orthopaedic Surgery in the College of Medicine and in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Cincinnati and at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Hewett has a doctorate in Physiology and Biophysics and a post-doctoral fellowship in Molecular Biology. Dr. Hewett has over 150 peer-reviewed publications and has authored a book and multiple book chapters, is a permanent member of a National Institutes of Health Study Section, is on the Editoral board for several journals and is an international expert in the field of injury prevention, especially of ACL injuries. Dr. Hewett has been awarded several prestigious awards, including the O’Donoghue Award and Excellence in Research Awards from the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Rose Excellence in Research Award from the American Physical Therapy Association, and a Young Investigator’s Award from the American Heart Association. He has been keynote speaker at many international conferences. Dr. Hewett is a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, The Orthopaedic Research Society and The American Physiological Society and is a Fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine.
