Biography

Dr. Vicente Mussi-Dias is a Plant Pathologist at the State University of Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (UENF) and Professor Contributor of Mycology at the InstitutosSuperiores de Ensino do Censa (ISECENSA) in Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dr. Mussi-Dias received his Ph.D. in Plant Production, investigating the history of plant diseases recorded in the state of Rio de Janeiro in the last 200 years. He completed his Masters in Epidemiology and Control of Plant Diseases. He has held positions as Substitute Professor at the Federal University of Esprito Santo (UFES) and Associate Professor at the Faculdade de FilisofiaCi  ncias e Letras de Alegre (FAFIA). Dr. Mussi-Dias is currently the Technical Manager at the UENF Phytosanitary Clinic and Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Safety, Environment, and Health at ISECENSA. Author of various projects and publications in various journals, his articles reflect his research interests in Epidemiology, Mycology, Bacteriology, and Nematology in plants. Dr. Mussi-Dias is also a project evaluator and reviewer for several journals in Brazil and abroad. Dr. Mussi-Dias is a member of the Brazilian Society of Mycology and is currently working on an extensive project ofbioprospectingendophytic fungi from plant species in areas of mangroves and restingas, biomes that belong to the Atlantic Forest. Dr. Mussi-Dias is respected for his ideas and relationships with undergraduate and graduate students in research, teaching, and extension activities. Dr. Mussi-Dias research is focused on the diagnosis of diseases in plants, disease control in post-harvest production, production of metabolic compounds by fungi, taxonomy, and biological and ecotoxicological testing.
