He is awarded PhD in Post Graduate Diploma in  Agriculture Extension Management from National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management, Hyderabad, India, followed by a Bachelor’s Degree (B.V.Sc &A.H) in Veterinary Science & Animal Health from DGCN College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.  He has extended his valuable service in Incidences of Pneumoenteritis in Dairy Calvesm, Laparoscopic sterilization in rhesus macaques & Health assessment in free ranging Rhesus macaques  captured at Mid-Himalayan areas of Himachal Pradesh and has been a recipient of many award and grants. Currently, he is working as Zoo Veterinarian at H.P. Forest Department. His international experience includes various programs, contributions and participation in different countries for diverse fields of study.  His research interests reflect in his wide range of publications in various national and international journals.

Dr. Vijay Kumar's research interests are Laparoscopic Surgery in Primates, Wild Boars and Many Wild Animals, Veterinary Laparoscopic Surgery, Veterinary Medicine, Anesthesia, Birds.
