Biography

Dr. David Mener is board-certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (Earn, Nose, and Throat Surgery) and a fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He received his medical degree at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York in 2010. He then completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Subsequently, he performed a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Idiopathic Mastoid Osteoma

In this case report, we describe the rare case of an idiopathic mastoid osteoma. A 40 year old woman complained of tenderness over her right mastoid during exercise and changes in head position. Medical treatment was initially offered with topical corticosteroids, capsaicin, and conservative cervical physical therapy.
