Deborah Bartholomew, MD, is a general obstetrician gynecologist and associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She has dual board certification in anatomic pathology and obstetrics and gynecology. Her interest in pathology continues and is evident in her commitment to resident education in the field of colposcopy and cervical pathology. She was awarded the Colposcopy Recognition Award by the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. Current research areas include HPV DNA detection techniques and HPV vaccines.

Objective: There is growing interest in human papillomavirus (HPV) self-testing as a potential cervical cancer screening strategy, yet little is known about women’s views on different self-test devices.
