There are many different types of stem cells. With respect to therapeutic applications, what have been well studied are tissuespecific stem cells, multipotent stem cells and pluripotent stem cells. The so-called tissue-specific stem cells and multipotent stem cells are also named as adult stem cells from which only cells within the same organ or the same germ layer are differentiated.
