I am a researcher in animal behaviour and behavioural ecology. I obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge and moved back to Canada for post-doctoral stints. I now work as an independent researcher. I use a variety of approaches in my work, including theoretical modelling, the comparative method and empirical studies both in the field and the laboratory to ask questions about the adaptive value of group living. My research interests focus on two areas: (1) the evolution of sociality, and (2) social foraging strategies.
