James is a Professor of Exercise Metabolism. He has authored over 160 research publications in the fields of exercise metabolism, exercise physiology and sports nutrition as well as numerous books / book chapters on these topics. In addition to research, James also works in elite professional sport in performance support roles. He also sits on the Technical Steering Panel for the English Institute of Sport and advises the Premier League in a performance mentoring role.
