Biography
Joanne Jung-Eun Yoo is an associate professor in the Department of Hospitality and Sport Business Management. Prior to joining the University of Delaware in 2010, she was an assistant professor at the University Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management.Dr. Yoo has several years of tourism/hospitality industry experience across the globe. She worked for Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) in Thailand as an assistant director of the Strategic Intelligence Center. Previously, she worked as an inflight interpreter for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in the Netherlands.

Progress in Convention Tourism Research

Several studies in the hospitality field have analysed academic journals to assess trends and suggest future directions of research. Despite its economic significance and rapid growth rate, convention tourism has received relatively little research attention. Furthermore, very little analysis has been conducted on the content of articles that examined this important industry sector. The purpose of this study is to determine the progress in convention tourism research to date by utilizing a content analysis on published articles in 14 academic journals, with the aim of identifying focus areas and providing future research directions.
