Biography

Maria João Silveirinha is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Letters, Universidade de Coimbra, Portugal, at the Department of Philosophy, Communication and Information. She holds a PhD in Communication Sciences from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.She has taught subjects related to feminist media studies, political communication, sociology of communication and theories of communication and the media.She is a consultant to several national and international publications on Communication and the Media.She is currently the Head of the Doctoral Programme in Communication Sciences of Universidade de Coimbra.
