Biography
Dr Sanket P Valia is an Professor works in Department of Fibers and Textile Processing Technology, Institute of Chemical Technology, Matunga (E), Mumbai His works includes : Natural fibres are receiving a great interest because of the environmental issues that are caused due to the ever increasing use of raw materials from the non renewable resources. One major application of these natural fibres is in combating oil spill. This work reports the use of natural lignocellulosic materials like jute, banana and coir fibres.

Lignocellulosic fibers are attractive materials due to its abundance nature, sustainability and biodegradability. They are economical and have low processing energy requirements.
