Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) is now the treatment of choice for patients with severe aortic stenosis regardless of their surgical risk. A significant portion of TAVR patients have concomitant Atrial Fibrillation (AF) leading to worse prognosis. Studies about the safety and efficacy of anticoagulation in this group are scarce. Hence, this review aims to assess the differential clinical outcomes of the type of anticoagulation on patients who underwent TAVR with concomitant AF. We performed a systematic literature review to present the data from identify randomized and nonrandomized clinical studies that reported anticoagulation for AF after a TAVR. In addition, we consulted the literature to check expert’s opinion on the subject and summarized them in this review.view moreĀ»
