A Hybrid Approach Based on GA and Monte Carlo Simulation for Improvement of the System Power Factor by DG and STATCOM in Distribution Systems

This paper presents a hybrid approach based on Genetic Algorithms (GA) and Monte Carlo Simulartion (MCS) are used as a optimization technique of objective function such as minimization of real power loss of the system for improvement of the system power factor by distributed generations (DG) (such as T2 operating at different power factors i.e.0.91, 0.92, 0.94, 0.96 and 0.98 leading, respectively) and incorporated static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) with different load models (DLMs) such as constant, industrial, residential, commercial and reference load models in distribution systems from minimum total real power loss of the system viewpoint.
