Smarajit Maiti is currently working in Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Cell & Molecular Therapeutics Lab Faculty, Department of Biotechnology, OIST, Vidyasagar University, Midnapore,West Bengal, India. He has international experience on various programs, and also contributed and participated in different countries for diverse fields of study. Research interests reflect in wide range of publications in various national and international journals.

Background: Women’s health is important for a healthy pregnancyoutcome. It influences the health of the newborn from neonatal through their adulthood. Present investigation is designed to study the influence of some maternal-variables/socio-demographic profile on the gestational-period, birth-weight and neonatal-health.
