Dr Veronique Viardot-Foucault is a Senior Consultant, Endocrinologist and subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine at KKIVF Centre and Reproductive Medicine department of KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Singapore. She received her medical degree from the Medical School of Pierre et Marie Curie University in Paris. She completed a master of sciences in Reproductive Physiology in 2001. She completed her residency in endocrinology, metabolism and reproductive medicine in 2003, and was appointed Associate Consultant in the Department of Gynecology of Hotel Dieu Hospital of Paris, France for 2 years. She joined KKH since year 2008.

Background: Gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist cycle was the traditional method of ovarian stimulation at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital IVF Centre. This long cycle involved many injections, with a poor side effect profile. The GnRH antagonist cycle was introduced in year 2000, with fewer injections per cycle and better side effect profile.
Aim: Our department aims to encourage transition from the GnRH agonist cycle to GnRH antagonist cycle, with complete changeover by 2013. Methods: The transformation process was organized according to Kotter’s Eight-Step Change Model from the first half of 2012.
