Outcome of Endoscopic Sinus Surgery of Adult Chronic Rhinosinusitis in First Central Hospital of Mongolia

Abstract
Background. Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) can be classified as CRSwNP, CRSsNP and allergic fungal rhinosinusitis. CRS may also be divided into eosinophilic CRS (ECRS) and non-ECRS subtypes based on the endotype inflammatory pattern. Methods. 17-73 ages of 200 CRS patients who were operated endoscopic sinus surgery at department of Otorhinolaryngology of First Central Hospital between November 2019 and November 2020, involved in this study. CT changes were evaluated according to the Lund- Mackay’s score before and after surgery. Additionally, we used “VAS” questionnaire SNOT-22 questionnaire. We performed 132 biopsies on patients who underwent the endoscopic sinus surgery and evaluated them according to the histological test instruction. Result. After the surgery and LM score was 9.42(Std.- 5.03) in CRSsNP group and 11.66 (Std.- 5.12) in CRSwNP group. SNOT- 22 score was 46.6±20.1 in CRSsNP group and 14.3±13.0 1 month after surgery (p<0.0001).Otherwise, SNOT-22 score was 48.4±19.7 before surgery and 15.2±16.3 1 month after surgery in in group of CRSwNP (p<0.0001). Conclusion. Endoscopic sinus surgery for CRS is effective according to the evaluation of Lund- Mackay, VAS and SNOT-22, and it was statistically significant (p<0.05). Histological test showed us the surgery is effective for certain sign including inflammatory process, number eosinophils and submucosal edeam (p<0.05). Altandush Enkhtaivan is Doctor in Department of Otorhinolaryngology, First Central Hospital of Mondolia. He is Fellow of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, School of Medical, Mongolian National University of Medical Science. He is Recidency of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, First Central Hospital of Mondolia. He has an MSc from Mongolian National University of Medical Science. He is member of Mongolian society of Otorhinolaryngology.
