Abstract


Introduction:The purpose of this study was to examine the level of Compassionate Love for Strangers and Humanity and the relationship between compassion love and wellness among nursing students in South Korea. Methods: 201 nursing students participated in the survey. The study was conducted in two different form; web-based(n=141) and pencil-and paper form(n=60). The study included general information about participants, compassion love and wellness. Results: The level of Compassionate Love and Wellness were 5.09(Standard Deviation,72), 3.40(Standard Deviation .63), respectively. In addition, compassion love(t=5.606), hobby(t=4.509), and health status(t=-5.055) has positive relationship with wellness of the nursing students. Among these factors, compassion love(β=.344) was the most affecting factor, followed by health status, hobby, and gender. Conclusion: In conclusion, to enhance the wellness among nursing students, compassion love is important. However, the programs to increase compassion love is rare. In the future program to increase compassion love needs to be developed and applied to the nursing students.
