The World Health Organization (WHO) reported more than 18,000 deaths from April 2009 to July 2010 attributable to 2009 H1N1 Influenza pandemic. There were 89,000 to 207,000 deaths mostly among younger age groups, 314,000 to 734,000 hospitalizations and economic cost of 71 to 167 billion dollars reported from pandemic modelling in 1999 by the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC).
