The suffer and support needs of the patients after allogeneic stem cell transplantation

Purpose: Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloHSCT) will bring a lot of physical and mental shock to patients. It is necessary to provide medical information to meet the needs of patients to reduce symptoms and improve quality of life. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional method to study 65 patients who received allo- HSCT treatment and divided them into four groups, according to transplantation. Assess the pain symptoms, health information needs, quality of life, and anxiety status of all patients. Results: We found that each period has different symptoms and needs, and the degree changes with time. Check the severity differences at four-time points. In terms of oral mucositis, diarrhea, nausea, hair loss, and fever, symptom distress was statistically significant (p <0.05). The health information required in different periods is also different. In terms of activities, drug information, blood reports, and preventive measures, dietary preventive measures, active preventive measures, symptom management, and infection control methods, the health information needs were statistically significant (p<0.05).
