Why Do Patients With Mental Psychiatric Disorders Have More Probability Of Acquiring Hospital Infection?

Introduction: Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) accounts for 8% of primary-care visits in the United States and has a lifetime prevalence of 18%. At any given time, 13% of the elderly population and 10% of younger adults are being treated with antidepressant medications. Lifetime prevalence for major depressive disorder is 16.5%, in the United States of America. When looking through ancient medical perspectives, it is possible to see that these disorders are linked to systemic energy imbalances. Purpose: To demonstrate that the energy imbalances (Yin, Yang, Qi, Blood and Heat retention) that are leading to psychiatric disorders are the same energy imbalances that increase the probability of acquiring hospital infections. Methods: Literature review and analysis of different studies regarding the emotions and mental psychiatric disorders, as well as the formation of hospital infections both in ancient medical traditions and Western Medicine. Results: The energy imbalances that are leading to the psychiatric disorders can end up as the consequences of the formation of Heat retention that is the same energy imbalance that can lead to the formation of the hospital infections, in an energy point of view. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that patients with psychiatric disorders, mostly when in taking high-concentrated medications have an increase tendency to develop hospital infection when admitted in the hospital, because the energy imbalances, leading to the mental health pathologies are the same energy imbalances that ease the process of acquiring hospital infections, in the energy point of view.
