To improve our understanding of maternal and perinatal health situation in eastern Sudan and to formulate recommendations to improve the maternal and child health. Various cross- sectional and case-control studies were conducted during the last six years (2008-2014) thus it might be of great interest and of high value to summarize the main findings in one paper.
