Amandio Vieira works as Associate Professor in Department of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC, Canada. He persude his Ph.D. from University of Alberta and his current research workks include Physiological Mechanisms of Nutrient Transport: Vitamin A and Retinol-Binding Protein, Flavonoids and Neuroprotection: Biochemical and Population-Based Analyses and Molecular and Cellular Studies of Transthyretin and Related Amyloid Pathogenesis.

Towards Validation of an Endocrine Simulation Model
From a biomedical engineering point of view, the body’s endocrine network can be considered as a high-order feedback control system based on chemical signals-hormones-produced by endocrine glands and endocrine cells embedded in other body tissues. A large number of mathematical models have been developed to simulate subsystems of the body’s endocrine-metabolic network.
