Pharmacogenetics of Apolipoprotein E on Donepezil and Fluoxetine Pharmacotherapy for Chemotherapeutic Induced Neurocognitive Decline

Chemotherapeutic drugs are designed to target and kill cancer cells, but significant evidence indicates they also attack other cells including neurons, which in some cases leads to long-term neurocognitive deficits. The aim of this review is to examine the potential use of pharmacotherapy (Donepezil, Fluoxetine) as a preventive treatment to assist and manage the long-term cognitive effects of chemotherapeutic agents.
