Rowena Bermundo has been a nurse for 28 years. Aside from the United States, she has worked in several countries like the Philippines, Saipan, and Saudi Arabia. Her areas of expertise include Neonates, Pediatrics, and Cardiac. Currently, she is an assistant professor of Roseman University of Health Sciences, College of Nursing in Nevada, USA. Rowena completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in the Philippines, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice at American Sentinel University. She is a member of the National League for Nursing, American Association of Colleges of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, and Asian American Pacific Islander Nurses Association.

The use of simulation in nursing education has increased over the years because of the known benefits to student learning. Debriefing is one of the simulation components in simulation and is critical in meeting the student learner’s outcomes. Structured debriefing provides a systematic guide to debriefers, which leads to a student reflective processes that enhance student’s knowledge, skills, and attitudes. This study utilized a quantitative, quasi-experimental design to examine if there was a difference in student satisfaction and self-confidence when the SHARP tool is used as a guide during post-simulation debriefing.
