Elizabeth Mayfield Arnold, is currently Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine and Social Sciences and Health Policy at Wake Forest School of Medicine (WFSM), Winston-Salem, NC. She is also a faculty affiliate with the Maya Angelou Research Center for Health Equity at WFSM. Dr. Arnold is a licensed clinical social worker and researcher whose career is focused on the development of interventions for vulnerable and marginalized groups, including persons who are homeless, runaway youth, and individuals at risk for suicide.

Study background: Mental health and sleep problems are important public health concerns among adolescents yet little is known about the relationship between sleep, depressive symptoms, and suicidality among American Indian youth.
