Biography
Franco Menichelli is graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome (1980). He dedicated himself to the study of acupuncture as early as the late ‘70s, as a student and then collaborator of Dr Maurice Mussat. He is currently President of the Italian Association of Acupuncture, Vice President of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine (WFCMS).He is the Director of SAET, the School of Energetic and Traditional Acupuncture of Rome and Arad (Romania, Vasile Goldis University).

Herpetic infections and acupuncture treatment

Herpes infections are widespread. In this paper I will talk specifically about herpes zoster, where acupuncture can be considered as the treatment of first choice. I will explain the mechanism of action of acupuncture in this pathology, the treatment protocol and the clinical results.
