Dr. Helena Mäkinen is an Professsor works as  Leading Specialist at  Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, Aapistie 1, FI-90220 Oulu, Country : Finland. she carried out several research and development projects on protective clothing, e.g. clothing for fire fighters, foundry workers, welders, electricians, meat cutters, cold store workers, shop workers, farmers, pulp mill workers.

Garment fit and still air between clothing layers affect heat transfer through the clothing and thus the thermal insulation.
