Hernandez-Camarena MD, PhD Surgeon graduated from the Escuela de Medicina y Ciencias de la Salud - Tecnologico de Monterrey, graduated from the same institution as specialist in Ophthalmology and with subspecialty in Cornea and Refractive Surgery from “Instituto de Oftalmologia Conde de Valenciana, IAP”, UNAM.He obtained the degree of Doctor in Philosophy in Clinical Sciences at the Tecnologico de Monterrey, and is member of the National System of Researchers in Mexico (SNI level 1) since 2016.

Ocular Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid (OMMP), a subset of Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid (MMP) is an autoimmunemediated progressive cicatrizing conjunctivitis with the potential for corneal blindness. Direct Immunofluorescence (DIF) is considered the gold standard for the diagnostic confirmation of this condition; nevertheless, in many cases, this immunopathological technique is inconclusive. A 54 years old female presented to our service complaining of progressive diminished visual acuity, foreign body sensation, and photophobia in both eyes.
