Sleep-related bruxism is classified as a repetitive jaw-muscle activity characterized by clenching or grinding and/or bracing or thrusting of the mandible during sleep. It has been shown in previous studies to occur in both a primary form as well as a secondary form. The Luco Hybrid OSA Appliance has been shown to be a very effective treatment of primary sleep-related bruxism as well as controlling the hyperstimulation of the trigeminal cardiac reflex that accompanies sleeps related-bruxism.
