Biography

Jerry Michael Melillo is a Distinguished Scientist at the Marine Biological Laboratory and a Professor of Biology at Brown University. In 2014, he was elected a member of the National Academy of Sciences. Melillo attended Wesleyan University and Yale University.

Land management for carbon sequestration offers an opportunity to avoid about 0.5°C of warming if landowners have full economic incentives to participate in a global greenhouse gas mitigation policy.
