Rabies is one of the negligible fatal acute viral disease of the central nervous system, which is a serious public health problem and is responsible for over 30, 000 deaths in Asia and Africa alone.Rabies caused by a neurotropic virus belonging to the Lyssavirusgenus of family Rhabdoviridae. Rabies virus Nucleoprotein (N) gene highly conserved gene mainly used for genetic analysis whereas Glycoprotein (G) plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of the disease. Despite the importance of rabies for animal and human health, little is known about the evolutionary dynamics of Rabies virus in dog populations and patterns of biodiversity.
