Adiposity, also known as obesity, is a global epidemic affecting millions of people worldwide. It is a complex disorder characterized by excess body fat, which can have negative effects on overall health. The causes of adiposity are complex and multifactorial, involving a combination of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Genetics plays a crucial role in adiposity, as the predisposition to gain weight varies from person to person. However, environmental factors such as diet, physical activity, and stress levels can also contribute to the development of adiposity.
