These resources encompass a wide range of elements, including water, soil, minerals, forests, wildlife, and biodiversity. The primary goal of NRM is to strike a delicate balance between meeting the needs of human populations and preserving the environment for future generations. We will delve into the principles, challenges, and strategies involved in effective natural resource management.
Principles of natural resource management
Sustainability: The core principle of NRM is sustainability, which entails utilizing natural resources in a manner that does not compromise their availability for future generations. This involves careful planning, monitoring, and adaptive management to ensure resources are not depleted beyond their capacity to regenerate.
