These high-speed, manoeuvrable weapons have captured the imagination of defense analysts and military strategists alike, promising to redefine the dynamics of modern warfare. In this article, we will explore what hypersonic weapons are, their significance, and the challenges they present.

A quantum leap in speed

Hypersonic weapons represent a significant leap forward in terms of speed and agility. Unlike traditional ballistic missiles that travel at subsonic or supersonic speeds, hypersonic weapons can reach velocities of Mach 5 (five times the speed of sound) or even higher. This incredible speed provides several advantages:
