Abstract

Distal radial artery aneurysms of the hand are rare. Herein, we report a rare case of a symptomatic snuff box radial artery pseudoaneurysm diagnosed in 80-years-old woman, a chronic hemodialysis since 7 years. The physical examination showed a painful swelling located in the same member where a radiocephalic arteriovenous fistula was confectioned. The pseudoaneurysm was treated surgically by arterial ligation and excision of aneurysm. The decision was based on a negative Allen’s test, angio-CT and specially the presence of adequate back bleeding from the distal stump. Indeed, an accurate diagnosis and a preoperative blood flow evaluation are necessary for appropriate management of distal radial artery aneurysms.
