Abstract

Synergistic replacement for the bone degenerative diseases like osteoarthritis, osteomyelitis and osteomalazie is a thrust area. Hydrothermal synthesis of nano-hydroxyapatite (HAp) with graphen oxide nanocomposite is chosen as an excellent remedy for the above requirement. However, extra cellular matrix polymer (chondroitin-4-sulfate) inclusion will give up the osteoinduction, cell attachment and proliferation and there by occupy the potential biomimic nature. Synergistic lyophilized powers of nano-HAp/graphene oxide/chondroitin-4-sulfate nanocomposites have been synthesized and analysed for the physiochemical analysis like morphology, hardness, chemical composition, crystalline nature and size of the particles. Further, the bioactivity and toxicity of the nanocomposites were compared and found the augmented / appropriate apatite layer formation for regeneration of new bone without toxicity. Especially, nano-HAp/graphene oxide composite with 0.5w/w of chondroitin-4-sulfate increases the bioactivity in 2 fold and reduced the toxicity to 2 fold down regulation. This synergistic nanocomposite resulted with prevailing and synergistically active material for restore the depleted bone and human life.
