Abstract

Dust is one of the climatic hazards, which is more likely to occur as global climate change intensifies. Dust is affected by the complex process of atmospheric and terrestrial interaction, which occurs mainly in arid and semi-arid areas, which has increased in recent years. Several studies have been conducted on the causes of dust storms. But, what is certain is that not all of these dust storms come from neighbouring countries and North Africa. These dust storms sometimes occur, in some cases, inside Iran and, in some cases, where the origin of these storms is outside of Iran (Iraq, Saudi Arabic, Syria and North Africa, etc.) by internal development intensive centers and toward the center, northwest and east of Iran. This study was conducted to find dust resonant nuclei in Iran. As dust storms occur in inappropriate environmental conditions and make measuring operations difficult, so many researchers in the world do not monitor dust storms using remote sensing (RS) technology. In this paper, we identify areas that can have a potential environmental impact as dust storms.
