Food security, halal, kosher and challenges

Abstract
It is a really outstanding challenge to provide sustainably good holy and whole food for the world, ensuring the health of people and the planet, since there is an exponential rise in the population that increased the demand for food. The huge rise in the food demand facing the world as well as the climate changes challenges are so far met by the technological advances in agriculture and food industry, innovations in food biotechnology, government policies and international institutions involvement as well as business investment in the food industry, transportation and storage. It is expected that in the nearest future there will be about 10 billion people in the world and that number of people will challenge the future global food demand that estimated to be about more than 70% of the food available for human consumption nowadays. There is also another challenge facing the food production and food industry related to traditions food taboos and religions food rules and regulations. This article is trying to present the necessary information for the food industry for appreciating and providing halal, kosher and other religiously defined foods. The article also shows the halal and kosher dietary guidelines according to Muslims and Jews religions that may stand as barriers to access many types of foods due to the type, source, or processing and food supply chain as well.
