Abstract

The effect of the environment on health has been well researched and documented and much is known about what preventative methods are required to maintain good health. Ensuring the sustainability of the environment, reducing pollution and being responsible for waste management requires raising awareness among healthcare providers as well as in the community. The increasing use of healthcare simulation in the training of students as well as healthcare professionals, globally, places simulation instructors in positions of influential leadership. Thus in the realm of sustainability, simulation educators are in a position of advantage, with the ability to play a major role in contributing to better community health. Additionally, management buy-in requires following policies and presenting projects in ways that make sense. This is a report of the initiation of such a project which wowed stakeholders enough for them to pay attention.
