Intervention study of omaha system intervention in the community elderly

Abstract


Objective: To investigate the effect of Omaha system intervention on social psychology and physical field in the community elderly , and to provide evidence for effective intervention in community elderly with state for improving the quality of life in the community elderly. Methods: The total of 428 cases of community elderly were randomly divided into intervention group and control group. The intervention group was got the intervention according to Omaha intervention system from case management, health education, treatment procedures, and supervision of the four aspects of 1-2 times a week, for a period of 6 months of intervention. The control group was the blank control. And compare the two groups in the intervention of 6 months using evaluation of Omaha evaluation form for social psychological and physical effect evaluation. Results: 6 months after the intervention, scores in the intervention group in the field of social psychology, physiology and other problems were superior to the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). In addition to physiology in the field of neuro musculo skeletal function of two groups had no significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion: The Omaha intervention system can effectively improve the QOL and maintain the physiological , social and psychological function in community elderly.
