Abstract

Waste to energy is normally connected to large utility scale developments, linked to centralised waste logistics procedures and with several difficulties for planning permissions, for handling plastics or medical waste and for the full usage of combined heat and power generated. That is all coming to an end. The small scale no recycling plastic and medical waste systems will handle from 50 kW to 5 MW decentralised sites. We will discuss some of the options and business models working or being installed and how they reduce costs, CO2 and ocean plastics.
